Updat process is restarting firefox....

How do I change this so that it's not restarting firefox like this? The current behavior is click/tap to open firefox, progress indicator is displayed regarding update, firefox opens afterwards, and then quickly restarts itself. The result is the tab that it created regarding the update is gone when it's running again.
