I am running ZoneAlarmPro (latest version), Grisoft-AVG (latest version) and Webroot-SpySweepr (latest version).
Problem 1: If I do a search using Google - I hit a link and the status bar shows it is starting to load. If I hit the link again BOOM - it loads properly. Problem 2: Many times it will load a page and get to about 90% or so and just say waiting on blahblahblah. The page seems to be completely loaded but not 100%. Any suggestions?

So far - so good. I found this (cover's AVG)...I will let you know if it takes care of my problem.
Open the AVG user interface (right click on the AVG icon on the system tray) Right click on the 'link scanner' and 'open' Disable the three settings at the bottom. Save your changes (ie make sure all the boxes are unticked). Close that window. 'Right click' on the link scanner icon and place a tick on the 'ignore the state of this component' - if you don't do this, you'll get a warning triangle appearing on the AVG icon in your system tray.

Seems to be a little better but still have to hit link's twice (sometimes) to get them to load and some pages still seem to be completely loaded but still getting "waiting" on the bottom status line.

I finally figured out the problem. I searched ZoneAlarm, Grisoft (AVG) and Webroot (SpyWare). Grisoft had a number of users with the same exact problem. I then noticed that just about the time I would notice a problem - my status bar would consistantly show it waiting on st1.avg.com . I shut down the AVG WebShield (prevents downloading infected files) and all my problems went away. I realize that I'm more at risk now then I was before but this will work while I look for another Virus program. I might look at Webroot and ZoneAlarm Anti-Virus program.
Thanks again.

Try Avast Anti Virus Free or Avira free. They have good ratings currently at PC tech sites. I have one on each computer.
