I recently downloaded Firefox 2.0.0.3 for Mac OS10, and, as happened with my first Firefox download, while browsing with Safari, I got a 2Wire message that there was excessive activity from my computer probably due to a Blaster virus. I reset Safari, restarted my G4, and continued to get the message. I reset again with the same lack of results. I shut down.
I am in a wireless network with my wife's Dell PC. When she turned on her PC, she got the same message saying that my Mac (shut off at the time) probably had a Blaster virus and 2Wire would not let her connect to the web.
The only thing that cleared the problem immediately was sending Mozilla Firefox to the Trash, then emptying Trash.
Without making comments on where I might have been surfing, any ideas about what's going on?
I like Firefox very much, but it seems not worth the aggrevation unless this can be resolved.
Exact same thing just happened to me on my Mac (OSX Tiger) but I was using Safari. The IP address listed was my computer, but I don't think I have a blaster virus.I did just open up a X11 application, so possibly it was this. But we have a 2Wire in the house as well, and I just thought that was bizarre. Anyone else???

We are having the same problem with my desktop, an early G4 running OSX 10.4.11. My wife reports that this problem (with the same message you all have been seeing) arose following her download of the most recent Firefox upgrade. The problem does not seem to affect my computer (Mackbook, also running OSX 10.4.11). I just solved the problem. First I moved firefox to the trash and emptied the trash. (Didn't work). I restarted the modem. (Didn't work). Then I remembered that I had had to update my DNS servers for a problem I encountered on my Macbook a while ago. So I went to system preferences>network>TCP/IP and put in the new DNS server numbers (I don't even know what these are or what they do, but it worked...I found them on a forum discussion several months ago when Mac users like myself were experiencing major internet speed slowdowns after an OSX upgrade). Here they are: 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220 Just type these in, hit "apply now", and see what happens. Frankly, I'd try this step FIRST, before you delete your Firefox!
