Firefox 3.5.1 crashes in some wikipedia pages

Post by tarekeat »

Hi guys, im not sure whether any of you experience this before.

Firefox crashes in some wikipedia pages, I cant specifically say which pages or why but it has to do with Web of Trust (WOT) rating symbol next to the link in some wikipedia entry. Other sites or wikiepedia entries seem unaffected by this problem.

This specific wikipedia entry is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rootkit. Everytime I go to this wiki entry firefox crashes. So I follow the elimination test and found that the WOT add on is the cause. After disabling WOT , the entry can be viewed. As I probed further I found out that the little rating symbol beside the links in this causes the crashes.

Any idea why this happened on some wikipedia pages and not the others??

Windows XP SP2 Firefox 3.5.2 is crashing in wikipedia when I enter this page ....

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?tit ... on=history

and then select one of the lower radio buttons, in order to 'compare selected revisions' - can't get as far as pressign the 'compare selected revisions' as the Busy bee mouse poitned appears and Firefox locks up, I cant open any other tabs either. it requires a task manger end process to shut down firefox.

Completey 100%^ reproducible.

I jusr upgraded from FF 3.0.x and everything worked fine in 3.0.x. The wikipedia page works fine in IE7 too
