Guest Bob:
Maybe it's not 100%stable. Upgrade to 1.5 one day.
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
You'll get the best and fastest support that way (probably everyone who helps on this forum has 1.5 now). http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=341279
You can apply this info to either version: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic
and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Error_loading_any_website

I had this exact problem. Mozilla had worked fine for years, then started giving "connection refused" for all sites. Checked Norton Security and Mozilla showed "permit access". Just to be sure I modified the setting, just chose "permit access" again and ........ all is working again.

Larry M -- what do you mean by "If you delete it," (it???) in "Finally figured it out. NF doesn't let Firefox queries respond back using port 80. If you delete it, evearything works fine. Funny that it lets IE use that port" above?

I just realized that this is message no one gazzilion on this topic. For many of us, this problem started with v1.5, whereas we had had no problems before. Why in the devil is this problem not solved and advertised by now by Mozilla?????
