If you are running Windows 7, Right click the executable for firefox and select run as Admin. the video will then play. Easy work around until Adobe gets its act together.

Guy... wrote:I've had this problem for ages, and I finally solved it with the help of:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox#Copy_data_to_the_new_profile.

This solution will reset your settings to which sites you allow or deny to set cookies, display images, open popup windows and initiate extensions installation.

1. Close Firefox

2. Start >> Run >> firefox.exe -p

3. Create Profile >> Next >> Finish >> Start Firefox

4. Close Firefox

5. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[Your User]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

6. Copy the file permissions.sqlite from the new profile folder to the original profile folder

7. Start Firefox

This worked in style...

I solved this problem on my Windows 7 machine for Firefox 13 for Flash 11.3.300.262
I was only seeing this issue in Firefox, not in Chrome.

Disable the browser feature that allows the user to save content to Real Player:

Worked thru everything from oldest to newest until this gem did the business. Thank You. If you have Real Player, start here.

So at least this one error isn't even Adobe's fault.

EDIT: But there is at least one other error that is Adobe's fault.

When I go to a Youtube link I get a black screen with the message ""An error occurred, please try again later"
I have uninstalled Flash Player and re-installed and still no luck.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Maybe related to Bug 634938 - flashvideos larger than 2 GB don't play

Frank Lion is right. My situation is that I had to replace my hard drive which I had had for several years in mid June 2012 and reinstall all software from scratch. Alas most Youtube videos wouldn't load, giving "error, try back later" sorts of messages. I had loaded the latest version (11) of flashplayer when I replaced the drive. So I uninstalled flash in the control panel and then went to the Adobe site and downloaded an obsolete version of flashplayer "fp_10.3.183.20_archive.zip" and like magic, Youtube works perfectly once again.
This is the url of the Adobe page I found the download on:

But in RealPlayer Firefox is not shown as a browser which is set-up for downloading.
Only Internet Explorer and Chrome are!
So how would deselecting that affect Firefox?

In any case I want to be able to download with RealPlayer in IE and Chrome
Thanks

Don´t know, but affect Firefox it did. Tried all other suggestions and nothing worked. Lost all saved data though due to not reading last page first =D>

Guest wrote:What worked for me is to disable the "Shockwave Flash" plugin and then restart Firefox, go to a known-bad site and try to watch the video. You should get a prompt that the plugin has been disabled. Go back to the plugins page and re-enable the plugin, restart Firefox and then try once more to load the video.

As I said, it worked for me so hopefully it'll work for others.

I've had the YouTube site telling me (in the vid box) "An error occurred. Please try again later."
But...omg you've saved me a ton of trouble!
I DISABLED all of my "Shockwave Flash" plugins (just the "Shockwave Flash" plugins)/ Closed the browser / Then reopened the browser and went straight to YouTube, and now ALL the vids play! (I don't know exactly how--maybe I have another plugin like "shockwave flash" but under a different name? I wouldn't know.) Again THANKS!!

Problem solved as new version of QuickTime installed

Post by Konstantin Guest »

In my case of Mozilla 14.0.1 on Win7 the problem disappeared after I updated the QuickTime plugin. As I understood, it was rather an installation of a newer version than an update because I had to download QuickTimeInstaller.exe (37 MB) and install it over the existent one.

I suggest to update all add-ons/extensions: press Ctrl+Shift+A to reach the list, click sth like "check if the extensions are not outdated" [English version may differ because I translate from Ukrainian], apply all available updates (you will be redirected to the extension developers' websites).

Luckily, the problem disappeared without any experiments with cookies.

Hope it helps.
