Opening new window with a new session

The HSBC online banking website (http://www.hsbc.co.uk) seems to cope with this problem. Anyone got any ideas how they've done it?

1) Open a fresh FF window and log into HSBC.
2) Open a second FF window and go to http://www.hsbc.co.uk - I'm not logged in. Somehow they have managed to detect the different session.

This is quite a big issue for me so would appreciate any advice

FF3 this still works - logged into the same game from 4 different windows
