Got it. Tools>Options>Tabs>Untick "When I open new tab, switch to it immediately"
Trolly, new offence, but couldn't fathom out what you'd suggested.
BUT it did give me a clue (one that I should have sussed myself !)

This issue can also be caused by the GoodSearch Toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)

Non taken. ;-)

It simply means to type "about:config" (without the quotes) in the address bar, then search for the name and set it to true.
