What happens when you dialup? Do you get the connection icon in your system tray? If you launch FF with that icon showing, what message do you get?

Hi - McAfee should be okay, just keep IE installed (and you may need to have it as your default browser, but you can still use FF predominantly - that's what I do).

Check you FF 1.0 as follows:

TOOLS ... OPTIONS ... GENERAL ... CONNECTION SETTINGS

I use DIRECT CONNECTIONS for dialup (and you'll need to adjust for a proxy or your ISP settings if needed).

I have been using Mozilla FireFox for a couple of months. This evening, however, I could not get it to launch. IE was fine. So I went to Windows Explorer to launch FireFox from there and it was empty. How in the world did that happen?

1. Reboot your computer
2. Make your dialup connection and minimize whatever is running
2. Click Start > Run
3. Type firefox.exe -profilemanager
4. If there is more than one profile, choose your original (if you can tell)
5. Start FF as usual

Use the Mozilla profile manager shortcut on the start menu, then choose your original profile and start Mozilla. There is another section of these forums that is specifically for the Mozilla Browser Suite:

Mauiman & tazz57.....
Why are you replying to an almost 4 year old thread?

Thank you.
tazz, running 2 firewalls could cause you problems, as they will conflict.
