How to revert to the left tab after closing a tab?

Presently, after closing a tab, Firefox goes automatically to the tab to the right.

I need it to go to the tab to the left (like in IE).

Can this be done?

I do not know of a setting within Firefox to do that. Several add-ons can do that for you:
