Addon Installing - Download Error -228

Post by shandy »

I've just checked this topic viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1977881 and I have the same problem - I can't install any addon or theme . Are you sure this is the problem with server because other users can install (random) addons? I'm getting this -228 download error and I've re-enabled cache - 100mb (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_ins ... Error_-228) but I still have the problem. Please HELP!

Failing that, a workaround is to right-click the download link, select "Save Link As..." and download the .xpi or .jar file to your computer. You can then manually install it by dragging the file icon onto an open Firefox window

Have you tried the above ???

Make sure your Firewall is not blocking access to "addons.mozilla.org".

Make sure cookies from this (above) site are allowed: Tools > Options > Privacy > History > Firefox will: Use custom settings for history [drop-down] > Exceptions [button] (and) Show cookies [button].
It may help to clear these cookies, and let them reinstall.

Clear cache:
Tools > Options > Advanced > Network / Cache > Clear Now.

Have you tried the workaround [mentioned]:
Right-click on the download link, select "Save Link As..." and download the .xpi or .jar file to your computer. You can then manually install it by dragging the file icon into the open Firefox "Add-ons [Manager]: Extensions" window.

Did you clear out your cache?

Though I don't get into the depth of that error code you are getting I put it into Google and came up with this stuff.
http://www.google.com/search?q=302+Foun ... =firefox-a

It seems that there is a lot of info out there on it... maybe something will help you.
