Can anyone please point me to a list of common domains which are the source tracking cookies?

I've searched google and these forums but didn't come up with a useful list. I'm sure that a good list of domains exists, I just can't find it. I plan to add 20-30 of the most common domains to my block list for cookies.

So far I have noticed that these sites like to set cookies on many pages I visit (mostly as ads and counters):
  • 2o7.net
  • addfreestats.com
  • advertising.com
  • channelintelligence.com
  • clickability.com

Why don't you just install SpywareBlaster and be done with all tracking cookies forever?

LeRoi: thanks!

KRH: I'll look into that. If it really works with Mozilla & Firefox, that's amazing.

It does, indeed. It's other functions are idle in FF, but it does eliminate tracking cookies.

Or then set up a proper HOSTS file. It works with any networking application (any browser for example) and it's fastest method available. Myself I use both hosts file and spywareblaster.

On HOSTS file:

The way I do it now is have Firefox ask me for every cookie it sets, so as long as I get it to block the major ones it's not too annoying to tell it to "Always Deny". I then also have a bunch of sites (such as news sites) where I don't mind if they get to set a cookie always "for current session only". And then I of course have my sites where they are always allowed to set a cookie.

I'll see how these other solutions fit in to what I'm doing now.

Is there a list of all the Ad cookies and Ad cookies that Track you were ever you go on the Net?
Also is there a way to add them to my Exceptions - Cookies list in my Firefox settings.

b1teman....
Would you please....check the date/s before posting in future.
This thread died on 18th Jan 2005.
Just start a new topic/thread, stating your problem.
Of course, you could always install "SpywareBlaster" from brightfort as per KRH's, ^^^^^, post.
Works well.
