I have Windows 7 and would like to use voice control to select options etc.

Does Firefox support this?

The following Firefox Help page indicates that 'Dragon Naturally Speaking' version 9 or later may be at least some use.

Assistive technology compatibility | How to | Firefox Help
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Ass ... patibility

It also provides the link http://www.speechcomputing.com/node/942
Mouseless browsing extension for possible assistance.

You may also wish to see if you can get further information on possible compatible versions of

Firesay :: Add-ons for Firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firesay/

from the extension homepage and contacts there.

A little more information here:

Mozilla Add-ons Forum • View topic - voice recongnition in windows xp
https://forums.mozilla.org/addons/viewt ... f=28&t=645

and you might be able to plough your way through this bug report concerning the native speech recognition features of Windows. It does refer to Vista but the comments say that it applies to Windows 7 as well.

Note the references to 'about:config' and the preference intl.enable_tsf_support
