Go through the settings of the touchpad (through mouse properties). In there, you can set things like virtual scrolling (active regions, etc), tapping, etc.

Synaptics touchpad

Post by reech000 »

The link provided by Christos on 2/22/2005 doesn't take me to any downloadable info. Did the page move? Any other ideas how to get my virtual scrolling to work? I don't quite understand some of the references to hacking and changing files. I'm using synaptics touchpad v5.6. Thanks!

Nevermind. I didn't notice that there was more than one page to this thread.

Symaptics TouchPad Scrolling Fix

christos wrote:Not ready to give up just yet! :-)

Try to do a google search with "Synaptics", "touchapd", "7.10". I think 7.10.xxx.yyy is the latest series that works with Mozilla/Firefox.

I found this page:
http://www.qditech.com.au/downloads.php

That lists this driver:

http://www.qditech.com.au/files/8050d/touchpad.zip

(I haven't tried it though! Careful when testing it!)

Good luck!

This good detective work and positive attitude helped solve my Mozilla/Synaptics scrolling problem. Should work for y'all as well.

Thank you, Christo,

The link for the 7.10.14.0 synaptics driver is broken. Does anyone have a good one?
Thanks, Judge

Still didn't work, I updated the driver from the synaptic site, added the code at the end of the file, rebooted, and it still doesn't work, any ideas. That foreign 'borrowed' site is a dead link. Any new ideas?

Have you tried to roll back your driver in device manager? I had the same problem and I had success rolling it back. If that doesn't work you could try looking through your old recovery cd's for the driver.

Hi everybody,

Somebody needs to send a pm to Soublema to upload the driver on the "Extensions Mirror" web page:
http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=2892 (currently the link to the driver is broken).

Having said that, there are still a couple of drivers out there (with links listed on this thread!), e.g.

(a)
http://www.qditech.com.au/files/8050d/touchpad.zip

(b)
http://drivers.microbit.ru/files/driver ... 2k_wxp.exe

That should do the trick.
