In the interim, you could download the Add-On Compatibility extension. This will enable you to activate the toolbar in Firefox 5. However, there is no guarantee that it will work correctly (or maybe even at all): the extension is really for use with beta versions of Firefox but can be used with final versions.

This worked for me. THANKS! I've used the google tool bar for so long that I felt like a novice without it.

Don't bother waiting for Google - Use Jonah Bishop's Lite version . I think it's better anyway!

That solution has already been posted here *several times* so no real need of a third-party blog saying the same thing one day ago that was available in this thread about a week ago.

It's a brilliant "fix" that will break again if Google doesn't get a new version out the door before Firefox 6.0. Recommending a compatibility of 6.0.* would probably have been more prudent.
Tip of the day: If it has "toolbar" in the name, it's crap.

sinaha, read the thread as solution has been posted countless times already. Also post the actual solution versus having people go to a random bog.

Also the Google toolbar is a Extension, not a Plugin as Plugin refers to say Flash, java, Quicktime and such.

And on that cheery and correct note I am going to lock this.

Note the link folks, Google killed the Google Toolbar for Firefox 5.
