In the interim, you could download the Add-On Compatibility extension. This will enable you to activate the toolbar in Firefox 5. However, there is no guarantee that it will work correctly (or maybe even at all): the extension is really for use with beta versions of Firefox but can be used with final versions.
That solution has already been posted here *several times* so no real need of a third-party blog saying the same thing one day ago that was available in this thread about a week ago.
It's a brilliant "fix" that will break again if Google doesn't get a new version out the door before Firefox 6.0. Recommending a compatibility of 6.0.* would probably have been more prudent.
