It doesn't happen to me so I couldn't do it. If someone who is suffering from this wants help with a bug report we could certainly do that.

Should someone be interested make a new, clean profile and don't add anything to it. If the problem still exists we can work from there.

I will try this fix, as I have the same problem with 7.0 and 7.0.1.

But WHY should we have to do this? Why do most people who upgrade NOT have to do this? I don't understand.

Nor do I. My first guess was an extension interaction but that has been more or less ruled out.

Just to be perverse, I found mine was set to 48. I've increased to 96 and loading has improved out of sight!

Hi-
I just updated and the fix is not working for me. The CPU surge appears to be worst on my YAHOO home page. Constantly between 60-70%. Any more advice? As is FF is pretty much unusable for me.

Also,
network.http.max-connections-oer-server is set @ 15. Not sure if that matters or not.

ty for your help.

Everybody has theirs set to 256. You are supposed to reduce it to 48.

48 works for most people. If someone wants to try higher numbers feel free.

Also, edited the first post to ask if folks have a fast or slow connection.

No. And I don't know anything about this bug except what I've read here.

It used to be set at 30 before. I have since changed mine back to 30 even though I did not really have issues with 256 on my now pretty old Linux box.

For reading as Bugzilla is not a discussion forum. Bug 692260 - Increase in network.http.max-connections appears to cause hang, requires browser restart

From reading that james it looks like the problem may be an errant dll.

See also Bug 681198 - Speedbit Video Accelerator conflicts with > 32 concurrent connections (unconfirmed).

The relevant file is sblsp.dll . If you have that and you are experiencing the problem, let us know.

It's funny, my bug 692262 is a duplicate of 692260.
