Additional information:
Edit the user.js & prefs.js in notepad.
You may just see user & prefs if you are not showing file extensions (i.e. exe, jpeg, pdf, js).
Solutions are rarely found in the use of more extensions.

In both edit browser.chrome.favicons and turn false to true. If you don't edit both files at startup the file will be reverted back to false (killing your favicons).
This is not the easy way to do this! Put about:config in the addressbar and change the pref from there. No point people fiddling around in their profile folder when they don't have to.
A user.js would only be there if the user put it there and so would already know what changes they had put in it.
