About:blank in Firefox?

User Help for Mozilla Firefox

No doubt most of you would have heard of about:blank spyware - I once managed to get this on my PC. I have noticed that when I open a new blank tab and try to bookmark it, "about:blank" appears as the name of my new bookmark (?!)
Is this the same as the infamous about:blank?
I am particularly concerned because when I open HijackThis, and go into the config menu, my default start page is listed as about:blank. (I have submitteed my HJT log to Castlecops and it came up clean).

My question is this: can anyone else please confirm for me what happens when they try to bookmark a blank page please? (if you also have HJT can you also check what's in the default start page in the config menu). If you can only perform the first check I would still be most grateful.
Yours gratefully,

umm, no. about:blank is FF's way to open a blank page, just like IE.

Firefox also has about:config, about:plugins, about:mozilla (easter egg) etc.

It's not spyware, you can sleep peacefully tonight.
