REQUEST- Mozilla should PROTECT itself from bad add-ons!

Post by firefox is buggy »

Otherwise known as third-party, downloadable "extensions"
The heart of the title of my post i this:

Why should it be SO difficult for Mozilla to PROTECT itself
against extensions which clearly CORRUPT it's most BASICS functions???

This has been happening for several years! Users are TIRED of this poopy!!

Unfortunately they cannot protect the program from the idiot factor
What sort of man would put a known criminal in charge of a major branch of government? Apart from, say, the average voter.

Mozilla are already working on ways of warning people that something they have installed is trying to install plugins or extensions. But speaking as a retired tech I can say in my experience people will install anything without reading EULA's and making sure that check boxes for added programs are cleared.

If you only install extensions that you find on addons.mozilla.org, and only install the Public ones with the green [+ Add to Firefox] button, with 5-star or 4-star reviews, you really shouldn't have many problems. If you install add-ons from random places, allow software installs to automatically add add-ons to Firefox, or install experimental or out-of-date or low ranking add-ons... well, there's the idiot factor at work.

Wonder if he has been reading the discussion on the mozilla.dev.planning newsgroup?

What's up with Malliz's previously condescending post (obviously/ quickly deleted by him) which apparently knows
something about me? What a piece of ++++. You can post out some odd 35930 replies all you want to, Mr."Malliz"
(Oh, sorry, it's -1 now) but if you judge my level of intelligence up front so ++++ then you might want to think twice
about the Mozilla "apology forum".

Get a ++++ life.

What's up with spamming threads just to air your dirty laundry?
