Did you ensure that you had checked in tools>options>web features to allow software to be downloaded, and that the site was added to the list of allowed sites. If it still fails after this, I'd agree with you and give it up as a bad job.
I don't know how to do any of this stuff, I just hire the guys that do
Have you considered reading the HELP folder. Right there on your menu bar.
