Almost, I find and nuke three or four Flash folders 'left behind as gifts' after using it...(which I always do)

Strange.
I've never found any left-overs.
Where exactly were they MightyG?

Next time there's a Flash Update for XP (that works) I'll let you know in detail.
After using the uninstaller I do a Windows Search for 'Flash' and they're always there..... removing them has never caused any problems.

folks,

i just got the problem solved and wanted to share the solution.

my ff is 14.0.1 and flash version is 11.3.300.270.

i have had trouble watching youtube videos for weeks even since updated the flash.

i got the youtube error message something like, video error, try again later and the snow screen.

i found this info, http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fla ... eo-firefox

the page offers 2 solutions, #1-update your real player, if it doesn't solve the problem, #2-downgrade your flash version, to v10.x or 11.2.

i had prepared to downgrade my flash if the real player update doesn't work. my previous uninstall flash and reinstall it with the latest version didn't work though.

surprisingly the problem was actually due to the real player. i can watch youtube videos now after upgrading it to the latest version 15.0.6.14.

after upgrading the real player, it will update its driver in ff when u re-open ff and that should enable you to watch youtube videos.

hope this info could help those have the same problem as me.

cheers!

I have FF 14.0.1 and Flash Player 11.3.300.270 now on my laptop, but no RealPlayer. YouTube works fine so far.

You created html5 just for the sake of getting rid of some lifelong bugdumps like this.
You created html5 in partnership, now USE it, or will this, once more, be some testing feature we worked on some time to not bore ourselves, but we won't use it anyways.

This was addressed at http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/f ... ash_has_go
When will flash go away? when people stop developing on it, using it on their websites, after all its functions are replaced by other tools.
