Tools > Options > General > Connection Settings... will allow you to choose different ports or change proxy settings.

oh ok, i knew how to set a proxy -

is thath right: if i dont type in a proxy and only type in a port (like 8080) and cross manualy proxy-configuration - i will surf with port 8080 ?

P.S.: sorry for that english guys - i'm from austria (little german-speaking country in central europe)

If you have a direct connection to the Internet, you generally don't get to choose which port pages are served on... it's up to the server that holds those pages. In most cases, you'll be restricted to port 80.

mhh ... that means - i cant change port (port 80 is blocked by the router from 11 pm, icq, email, surfing via proxy works) ?
is there an other method to surf ?

Not that I know of, sorry. In most cases if the network administrator wants to restrict your browsing, they'll manage it. I hope you find your answer.

Can't you set the browser to send requests on a different port than 80 (e.g.3229) and then set port forwarding on your router?

Thanks

Jem

Don't mind me just locking this ancient thread...
(*.mozillaZine.org is not Mozilla!)
The Complaint Department at Mozilla (current complaints) (<It is not a real complaint site but for jokes/testing of bugzilla).
The Complaint department link is borked until unknown time.
