firefox constantly asks permission to go to site

I am using Firefor 47.1 on a mac.

Every time I attempt to go to a site firefox asks me if I want to go to the site? If I didn't want to go there I wouldn't be inputting the URL, right?
I spend a HUGE amount of time clicking OK. How do I stop this intrusion?

I pray someone can help me solve this problem!

Most odd. What is the exact wording of the message you get? Also links to some of the websites where this happens would be useful.

who knows? It's my business to go there or not. I don't need a machine mind sticking it's version of
correct behavior into my business unless I ask it to. Even then I don't want to be bothered all the time. That's why I switched to Chrome. I gave up on it as I wasn't able to discover a comprehensive down-loader to capture the exotic birds that might be flying by.

I suspect that the answer probably lies somewhere in about:config. I just don't know where to look for or what to do when I get there.

Any helpful suggestions?

Perhaps if you provided a URL to a site that exhibits this behavior we could check.
