Flush Recently Bookmarked
Is if possible to flush the Recently Bookmarked folder? By flush I DO NOT MEAN to delete the actual bookmarks, but only clear Recently Bookmarked folder of any entries.

You can delete the whole folder. Just open manage bookmarks, right click on the folder and choose delete.

If you want to turn off the "Recently Bookmarked" section in your bookmarks then you will need to go in to "about:config" and change the entry "browser.bookmarks.showRecentlyBookmarked" to "false". I tried just deleting the folder and that didn't work so I hunted down the config option and changing that does work.

Can I ask please what the benefits of clearing or turning off Recently Bookmarkeds would be? Am always keen to learn new ways to keep my Firefox lean'n'clean.

To some people it's an unnecessary duplication of bookmarked sites.
Doesn't matter what you say, it's wrong for a toaster to walk around the house and talk to you

Re: Flush Recently Bookmarked
Hi,
Before doing anything...
May I suggest that you go to any site that you do not want to keep, bookmark it & delete from the Recently Bookmarked folder via the Library.
Take note of exactly where it is placed (say a new folder) & afterwards, you'll see that it's gone.
Bwe wery, wery cwareful.
hahahaha.
The Recently Bookmarked, is a quick way of finding your "recent" bookmarks.
I would not try removing them from Recently Bookmarked.
There are extensions for finding & safely removing duplicate bookmarks.
