how can i know what page made me crash?
I''m looking through my crash reports but am not seeing where it says what page made me crash. Is that in the crash report somewhere? I usually have 8-10 tabs open and assume ONE of them is the culprit, but can't figure out which one is the crash trigger. Thanks

Re: how can i know what page made me crash?
Post a couple of your crash-report links here, maybe we can see where your crashing.
1. In address bar enter: about:crashes
2. Right click on the top 2 or 3 links (one at a time) and use: Copy link Location...
3. Paste the links here into this thread.
A url to site would also be helpful for others to test.

From the documentation:
Aren't the unredacted crash reports or the minidumps still on the user's machine somewhere?
Some fields, such as "URL" and "Email Address", are privacy-sensitive and are only visible to users with minidump access.
From the crash report:Minidumps are not available to everyone. For details on how to gain access and where to find minidump files for crash reports, consult the crash report documentation.
The sign-in is for a Google account. Is that what is required to view minidumps? A Google account? You need to be signed in to download raw dumps.

Re: how can i know what page made me crash?
Why would you assume that? It may well be totally unrelated to any open tabs.johnoh wrote: I usually have 8-10 tabs open and assume ONE of them is the culprit
But you think we might know, even though we don't even know which websites you use?but can't figure out which one is the crash trigger. Thanks
This thread will go nowhere until we have some crash report links.

- The crash usually happens the very instant I click on a link, which is why I use the term crash trigger. It happens with various sites.Frank Lion wrote:Why would you assume that? - "but you think we might know?" No I don't, I just assumed it would be in the crash report somewhere, hence my post.
- you do not know what sites I use because there are so many. Do you really want a list of 50 sites?
below are a few crash reports. PLEASE NOTE:
I've been troubleshooting this for a month, the crashes happen...
- whether hardware acceleration is on or off
- whether my drivers (and video cards) are nvidia or ati
- whether I'm coming out of sleep or its a fresh boot
- I reformatted and re-installed windows, still happens
- whether i use flashblock or not

Version 49.0.2 came out just yesterday, try updating and see how it goes for you. It has a fix that will hopefully reduce number of Flash related crashes.

Re: how can i know what page made me crash?
your graphics driver is out of date
display fusion is much out of date
https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/
you dont need "no google analytics" while you have uBlock installed
https://www.reasoncoresecurity.com/jid1 ... 4221f.aspx
you dont need noscript while uBlock is installed
https://www.reasoncoresecurity.com/73a6 ... 20297.aspx
tabmix plus is also out of date
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/a ... /versions/
the crash reps say - "no plugin hang" - so not flash or other
current flash is v23 - get the update if not done
https://www.adobe.com/go/getflash
dude - you update policy is really bad - change that.

Re: how can i know what page made me crash?
I've tried a dozen newer ati drivers and none of them affect crash frequency. The version I'm using was chosen by the ATI driver tool from the ati website and is the most stable for my card - my hd4670 vid card is pretty old
thank you for the tip regarding noscript and google analytics. I only added them this week and they have not affected the crash frequency but will remove them now
actually my tabmix plus 0.5.0.0 plus is current, but see there is a new beta version.
removing displayfusion does not reduce the number of crashes - i use an old version because I like it more than the new version.
I'll try the new flash version. thanks for the input

0.5.0.1 is not really beta, its the next final and solve several issues, i already use it
http://tabmixplus.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=3
for ati i read the hint, that the latest build of v15 should be ok.
http:// www.filehorse.com /download-ati-catalyst-windows10-64/download/
filehorse i not my favorite, check the digital signature of that file if possible, otherwise drop
current flash is mandatory.
sorry for being short - btw not full quotes please!

Re: how can i know what page made me crash?
As a test, I might start with a new, clean Profile - using whatever ATI drivers you happen to have, & see if you crash like that.
No extensions. Maybe even disable all Plugins, except perhaps for Flash.
Run it for a while & see what happens.
(Could be some old settings that have persisted that are at least in part material to the crashes?)
If still OK, add your extensions back in & test some more.

While there may be times of overlap, even if by side effect of what they do, they are in general used for different purposes.you dont need noscript while uBlock is installed
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Re: how can i know what page made me crash?
- after updating to latest flash, ati driver, and ff 49.0.2 I was able to go 4 days without a crash, but just had another. It happened as I hit EXIT on Chrome after playing a youtube video with Chrome. Right then, FF crashed.
- I see here that flash has yet another update so my flash must have been a couple days out of date. I'll set it to automatically update from here on out.
- @therube - I did start with a clean profile a couple times in the last two months, but it did not seem to help

Re: how can i know what page made me crash?
do you have an AMD processor (cpu) ?
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1281759
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1279590
http://www.memtest.org/
if all is fine, you have to wait for the fix, which may come first with v51, but i dont recommend such early versions for usage.

you can try memtest to determine if your memory (RAM) is okThis is just random memory corruption

just to follow up - all these crashes were caused by a bad motherboard ethernet adapter. Disabled it and got a new pci-e ethernet card, no more crashes.

Thanks for the update, always useful to know. Never, ever, would have thought of that one as a cause.johnoh wrote:just to follow up - all these crashes were caused by a bad motherboard ethernet adapter. Disabled it and got a new pci-e ethernet card, no more crashes.
