Re: java and flash update
Best and safest way to update those plug-ins is to visit the home page of each and check there for the latest version number, updating if that is not already installed on your computer.

Re: java and flash update

Re: java and flash update
Hi,
That "Plugins" page has never worked efficiently, IMHO, so, check what you have set in both Java & Flash.
They both have options to auto update when you install or update them manually.
Read those installation screens.
Personally, I much prefer to check for any updates manually, say, once a month or so.
I use Adobe's "Un-installer" & then install the version/s I require.
Adobe test page > http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
The latest version is > 24.0.0.194
Java test page > http://www.javatester.org/version.html
Moving to Firefox Support...

You could always just run Mozilla's checker: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
Do, or do not. There is no try.

It works for me. There's also Qualys. This one checks a lot (depending on what version, and what you have installed): https://browsercheck.qualys.com/mightyglydd wrote:What's the point, it's never worked properly.BobbyPhoenix wrote:You could always just run Mozilla's checker: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

Re: java and flash update
Hmm, why would need Mozilla to check one plugin?
They removed the link from the Addons Manager a while ago, what does that tell you ?

Re: java and flash update
Well the OP is asking how to check if Java and Flash are updated. Since FF 52 now only supports Flash that is all you'll see. I was only providing a way to quickly check if the version is outdated or not without needing to jump through hoops on Adobe's site, or anything like that. To me even checking just the one available plug-in is good or not is enough for me to use it.

As I said, it's NEVER been accurate and there are plenty of posts here to confirm that.

It is accurate when Mozilla manually update the versions of Plugins to check.mightyglydd wrote:As I said, it's NEVER been accurate and there are plenty of posts here to confirm that.
