I emailed the authors about an apparent flaw on one of their web pages at
http://www.clovelly.co.uk/red-lion-hote ... restaurant
In both Firefox and Internet Explorer, the text is not fully displayed here:
> https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/401 ... teFlaw.jpg
They responded promptly that they could not recreate with the following (their labels):
* Firefox 51
* Edge 38
* IE 11 and 10, 9 and 8 in emulation mode.
* Chrome 56
* Opera 43
* Safari 5 (Windows)
* Safari (Mac)
They suggest it's probably down to one of my plug-ins/add-ons. Before I pursue that I'd appreciate feedback on whether others can view the page properly please. I suspect they are right, as I've since found that I can do so on my iPad:

Hi Terry,
Your page displays just fine here, with all the text visible.
This is with both Firefox v20 & v50....but,
the, Home/Visiting/History etc., etc., text links at the top of your 1st image & the text in the "Events", "News" etc., right column
are totally different to mine.
What do you have set for..."Allow pages to choose their own fonts..............?"
Mine is "Un-checked", but I use my preferred selection of fonts.
Cannot comment on your 2nd one.
Just try Firefox' Safe Mode?

Re: Is this page's text fully visible for you?
Thanks LIMPET, it is indeed a font issue! I'd never have thought of that (and presumably neither did the web author). I had Allow pages to choose their own fonts..............? checked.
On disabling it I get the full text, and with other significant changes too, perhaps now like yours?

I can't remember why I enabled it at some point. Maybe I'll find out when some other page now displays unexpectedly!

Re: Is this page's text fully visible for you?
Hi Terry,
Yep. Now it looks like it "should." ??
Anyway, glad to assist.
(Just a quick note though....Could you please reduce the image size/s to around, say, 600 x 500 or so, so as not to break the forum layout?)
(it saves us mods from having to do this... "Image tags removed to restore the forum layout.")
Thanks.
ps.
&....If you want an excellent, free photo/image resizer, go to...
> http://faststone.org
& install "Faststone Photo Resizer."
It has heaps of features.

Interesting. In SM2.46 with Allow pages to choose their own fonts checked it displays just fine.

Same here, looks OK on win10 with pref checked, which I believe is the actual 'default' setting for that pref.

Renders fine for me letting the site use it's fonts. http://i.imgur.com/j2BsKYg.png
Main text was using the Verdana font. I notice in mine that the logo is higher up, even with the top navigation menu. Perhaps they changed something on the site?

Just for a comparison...
Here's what I see...
Not too much difference in the positioning of any headers/text etc., AFAICS.
