Automatically Select/Enable addons

Post by awilsona »

With FF RR ending support for NPAPI, we have decided to 'convert' to FF ESR.
The process I'm using is to remove the existing version of FF (50) and then install FF ESR 45.8 - though we may go with ESR 52 - using a script. This process works fine, and existing user profiles are not affected.
However, when I first launch FF ESR, I'm prompted to 'Select Your Add-ons'. This happens when any pre-existing user launches FF. If a new user logs onto the computer and launches FF, they do not get this message.
From what I've read, any add-ons installed within FF are enabled by default, whereas any that are installed by another application are disabled by default. In our case, we are using McAfee Siteadvisor.
While it's easy enough to check the boxes and click Next and then Done, I was wondering if this process could be automated. My goal is to eliminate unnecessary calls to the helpdesk.

Thank you.
