I can easily disable Bitdefender on desktop and Avira on laptop and see what difference it makes.
However, I'll admit to not knowing enough to say that disabling sufficient to at least get an idea about their effect on browser persformance. As opposed to completely uninstalling.

This is a double-edged sword. It also means they can get fixes to vulnerabilities out to the field much quicker.
And in some respects, doesn't that smell of Mozilla?
Isn't that part of their rabid release doctrine, the reason that every release breaks - something, so they can get fixes to vulnerabilities out to the field much quicker.
(Actually its not. It's the changes more so then the vulnerability fixes.)
Fire 750, bring back 250.

I have tried disabling bitfender. Didn't seem to affect page loading differences. also created a new profile for firefox. Again, on average, firefox is slower than palemoon and chrome. In no cases was it faster.

I guess that is just the way it is built.

I wonder why your experience is different. No addons? something else?
