mobile bookmarks on desktop

Post by ineuw »

Is there a way to create a link to the mobile folder and place it on the toolbar, or the bookmarks menu without installing an add-on? I have done this with the "Other bookmarks" using a hack, courtesy of Martin Brinkman of gHacks.net: "place:folder=UNFILED_BOOKMARKS". I tried "place:folder=MOBILE_BOOKMARKS" but it doesn't work. Perhaps, the object name is wrong?

The place URI is OK, but you will have to wait for Firefox 54 (currently Beta) to have support for this URI.

dickvl, thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, can't use FF versions beyond 51.01 because the Multiprocess feature breaks the Wired-Marker add-on, which is very important for my work. :-(

You can easily disable multi-process if that is the only problem.

When multi-process windows in Firefox is enabled then Firefox will use more memory and may be less responsive.

You can disable multi-process windows in Firefox via the about:config page.
browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false
browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false
