You don't. Just enable the theme you want to use.

Enter about:config in the address bar, search for theme, screw up everything in there until you get what you want.

Back up your profile first.

Hadn't noticed this till now. Just tried it. Slightly less compact than the way I have Waterfox set up with CTR!

Note that the so called Themes on https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/themes/ are basically toolbar wallpaper images while the Real Themes are https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/complete-themes/

Usually there would be a theme file somewhere on your system.

Compact themes are "build into Firefox". Nothing to delete or uninstall there.
They are not active, if the default theme is, so no need to worry about them.

If someone really needs to hide the two compact themes in add-on managers "appearance" area, here is the code for it:

Code: Select all

@-moz-document url-prefix(chrome://mozapps/content/extensions/extensions.xul), url-prefix(about:addons) {
  richlistitem[value="firefox-compact-dark@mozilla.org@personas.mozilla.org"],
  richlistitem[value="firefox-compact-light@mozilla.org@personas.mozilla.org"]{
    display: none !important;
  }
}
Add code to userChrome.css, userContent.css, Stylish style or CTRs custom css area.

@Aris - Kind of suspected they were coded in.
Did a pretty thorough search on two different systems and was unable to find a specific related theme file as in the past.
Thanks for the confirmation.

I have 2 unwanted themes(skins) located in Appearance; 1)Compact Light... and 2)Compact Dark... both are unneeded and unwanted !

there is also a default theme which has always been a part of FF which I have no problem with; FF should not be inserting unwanted, unneeded and unremovable modules into my personal application
