I was always scared of screwing something up in Terminal, so I was always wary of the prescribed method.

I can't guarantee my method, but I have had no problems in the few months, or maybe a year, I have been using it. It's not very well documented by Mozilla, if at all, which is not uncommon for Mac stuff. I just figured it out by playing around with it. I wish you would try it and let me know if you see any problem.

Being an old UNIX person I have no issues with the terminal. Besides, I have a shadow SSD with a delay since I am paranoid. Recovery is only a click away.
