New WaPost crossword won't load

Post by pilotman »

The Washington Post changed its crossword software and it won't load in Firefox. The WaPo "help" was of no help. They suggest using a different browser. The crossword is displayed using JW Player 7.7.2. All the pop-up ads appear so I suspect there may be compatibility problems with JW Player. Here's the link to the crossword page; access to the puzzle may require a subscriber account:

I noticed this on the view page info window:

X-UA-Compatible IE=edge,chrome=1

Does this mean the page is only compatible with IE and Chrome? Other WaPost pages do not have this, only the new crossword pages.

XUA means nothing for firefox forget it please.

need scripts/content from:
js.washingtonpost.com
cdn1.amuselabs.com
cdn-api.arcpublishing.com
ssl.p.jwpcdn.com
fonts.googleapis.com

I just tested it and if cdn1.amuselabs.com is blocked the crossword doesn't load and all you get is a blank area where the puzzle usually is.

If you're using Privacy Badger to block trackers it needs to look like you see it in the screenshot (there's one more tracker called scorecardresearch hidden but which is also blocked): https://i.imgur.com/VGVvyGt.png
