Re: Plug in and script problems
Walt, that last link leads me to a 'Not Found' page ......
You got the unresponsive plugin warning on Adobe Flash download page ?
I noticed earlier that you got it on the Adobe page where you can check to see if you're running Flash and if you're running the latest version.
I must admit that especially this 'plugin' issue is giving me the feeling like I'm in a SciFi movie - it just doesn't make sense to me.
I still don't know what you do when you get these warnings, which (for me) makes it kinda difficult to advise you what to do next.
Like : do you click 'Never ask me again' - or what ?

Re: Plug in and script problems
Getting out of bed for this :
The fact that you're getting these unresponsive plugin warnings keeps bothering me.
As you are not running an ESR Firefox version, you only are running these three plugins (Shockwave, Open H264 and Widevine).
We've already established that your Flash is up to date, so that can't be it.
Would you check this :
3-bar menu => Options => Content : and check to see if 'DRM content' is checked, will you ?
Going back to bed now and leave you in the capable hands of others .......

How about trying Safe Mode ?
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tr ... -safe-mode
If that doesn't work try a New Test Profile (add nothing)

Re: Plug in and script problems
Did you try to disable protected mode in the Shockwave Flash plugin?
You can do that via the about:addons page.

Re: Plug in and script problems
Try to set all plugins to "ask to activate" (or never activate) on the about:addons page ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins)

Sounds like a good idea, provided that Walt runs FF 32-bit and not 64-bit.dickvl wrote:Did you try to disable protected mode in the Shockwave Flash plugin?

Re: Plug in and script problems
Thank you everyone
I downloaded Flash 26.0.0.131 via my IE browser and still had a problem with the flashing plug-in alert on Firefox. My computer froze so I hard rebooted and went to bed. This morning when I tried Firefox all my extensions and plug-ins worked fine.
I think my computer is schizophrenic.
thanks again
Walt

Re: Plug in and script problems
Just to be sure we're clear, after that download you ran the installation of Flash with Firefox closed and then restarted Firefox?I downloaded Flash 26.0.0.131 via my IE browser and still had a problem with the flashing plug-in alert on Firefox.

Re: Plug in and script problems
When I rebooted from the keyboard the computer got frozen trying to shut down. So I push the button on the laptop to force the computer to turn off. Then I pushed the button again to start the booting. A page appeared with a button saying "Start Windows Normally". I pressed enter and went to bed.
