Some pages when you zoom text, the page gets squished, is there any fix for this? Here is an example.

Would you try this :Codec wrote:Some pages when you zoom text, the page gets squished, is there any fix for this? Here is an example.

Alt key => View => Zoom
And try : 'Zoom Text Only' or 'Reset'
Any difference ?

You might try opening the window?

Note that you can get issues like that when you use "Zoom Text Only" instead of full age zoom and the page uses fixed settings for these elements.
Does it work better on affected websites if you use full page zoom (i.e. remove the checkmark)?
Changing the default font size via "Options -> Content" can also cause such an issue.

@Codec :
Another thing to try :
3-bar menu => Content : Fonts & Colors => Advanced => Minimum Font Size (none)
3-bar menu => Content : Fonts & Colors => Advanced => [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

I understand the Alt key part but view and zoom, what do you mean?Happy112 wrote:Would you try this :Codec wrote:Some pages when you zoom text, the page gets squished, is there any fix for this? Here is an example.

Aww, I should have explained (sorry !):Codec wrote: I understand the Alt key part but view and zoom, what do you mean ?
When you press the Alt key, look at the upper right side of your screen .......
You'll see : File, Edit, Zoom, History, Bookmarks, Tools and Help.
(to close that feature : click on any empty space)
Click on 'View' and then on ' Zoom' .
'Zoom Text Only' might work, but you could also try 'Reset'.
If neither do the trick : see my last post .......

I am sooo sorry - I said : "look at the upper RIGHT side of your screen " - I should have said :Codec wrote: There is nothing appearing there.
upper LEFT side.
I'm going to find me a rock to crawl under.
(but I think I'll go to bed first - it's 00.32AM over here and I am sooo sleepy)

Happy-- when you hold ALT, nothing appears in the View menu or any menu. Find a 2nd rock.
You can hold CTRL and scroll your mouse wheel, without using the View menu. It doesn't squish my pages.

Happy didn't suggest holding Alt...which when pressed shows the Menu Bar > View.

Re: Pages get squished when I zoom text.
What would matter is whether Zoom Text Only in the Zoom menu has a checkmark.
This would mean that full page zoom is disabled and in that case you only zoom the text and not the text containers.
This can cause text to overlap like shows in the screenshot.
You can tap the Alt key or press F10 to temporarily show the Menu Bar with the View menu.

Same with mine if it's in Full Screen mode. Pressing the ALT key does nothing.Codec wrote:Nothing appears when I push Alt.
If I get out of Full Screen mode, by pressing the F11 key, then ALT will call up the menu bar--if it isn't already set to always display.

Zoom text only is checked, because that's what I prefer, but for some sites like the pic I posted when you zoom text only it squashes the page, but is there a way to full page zoom some sites?dickvl wrote:What would matter is whether Zoom Text Only in the Zoom menu has a checkmark.
