How to fix the horrible lag in firefox?
Sometimes I can't even scroll up and down a page, copy and paste or even type without HORRIBLE lag, any fix?

Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
If no improvement using Safe Mode, do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager
and

Also, what security software is running on that system?

Re: How to fix the horrible lag in firefox?
Just solved this issue on my FF 54.0.1, Win 10, dual core, 32bit system aka "ancient system", by removing Ghostery. Startup times went from 20 seconds to 5 seconds, no longer experience the slow downs, scroll judder, Firefox freezing, and other assorted issues on websites. Gmail is useable for me again!

Which version of Ghostery was that? Wondering since I'm still running the v.5.4.11, last version before all the serious complaints started. But I have noticed the various issues you're describing with my FF52.2.1esr, so will disable Ghostery and see what difference that makes.Arnb wrote:Just solved this issue on my FF 54.0.1, Win 10, dual core, 32bit system aka "ancient system", by removing Ghostery. My system autoupdates so it was likely the current version of Ghostery.kukla wrote: Which version of Ghostery was that? Yesterday, on a machine that is rarely used with Windows 7, FF 47 and some version of Ghostery, removing Ghostery had a major positive performance increase for FF. Firefox self updated to 54, then uBlock Origin was installed.
