How Can I Find a Missing Extension?

Post by koolx »

Huge problem. For some unknown reason one of my extensions is gone as if its been uninstalled. Is there a way to view the history of my extensions to pinpoint the one I'm missing?

Which extension?
. . . better still have you checked /Tools/Addons to see if it's still in the list.
Also look at about:support under the heading extensions.
Doesn't matter what you say, it's wrong for a toaster to walk around the house and talk to you

You would need an older copy of extensions.json in the profile folder to check if you can find the details of this extension.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll work on that. Thanks.

Grumpus asked you a very valid question !
When you've lost a CD, do you also not remember which CD that was ?

If you removed/disabled it recently, it might be down at the bottom of the list, grayed out.

You can try searching for the missing extension in the about:config entries.

about:config?filter=extensions

The question was ridiculous.

No one keeps records of CDs like a computer does with apps. Join the 21st century.

Tried that but a list of lines come up and its impossible to view extensions in that long list.

Cuz when I opened FF I found font size was smaller than usual. I then coudnt find the extension repsonosible for managing font sizes. And I dont remember the name of it since I got many extensions. Thats when I knew.

Is this with the font size in the user interface or with the font size on web pages?

For the former you can use Theme Font & Size Changer.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addo ... e-changer/

For the latter you can use NoSquint Plus or a possible page zoom extension.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint-plus/
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/zoom-page-we/

It is usually not recommended to increase the minimum font size to avoid issues with overlapping text.

I understand - wish you had told Grumpus, when he asked you 'that question'.

If I annoyed you earlier : I apologise.
