Sounds like an issue to take up with Brightcove.

Actually looks like a site coding issue as some videos do play

Well the embarrassing one showing empty stands at Indy WFM, just uBlock Origin default + Fanboy's Social Blocking list, no other blocking stuff.

The player on NASCAR.COM is using HTML5 as you can right-click and player information.

Check to see if your system can play HTML5 fully on https://www.youtube.com/html5/ as all check marks should be blue.

If not then you may have a N or KN version of Windows 10 and do not have the needed codecs installed.

The player works fine in safe mode.

The player shows the video, but does not play it. When I click on the play arrow it plays maybe a frame or two and stops. The video plays fine in IE.

Then likely it's an extension causing your problem.

Thanks, I will check out the info. Whatever it is it is on both my laptop and desktop, both running Windows 19 Pro.

Downloaded and installed Seamonkey and it works fine with the Brightcove Player. I will completely uninstall Firefox and reinstall and see what happens. Disabled all plug-ins and the player still would not work. Player works when Firefox is in safe mode.

Did you try disabling hardware acceleration under Tools->Options->Advanced->General?

Odd, Safe Mode disables installed extensions and hardware acceleration so perhaps there is something else in the current profile causing the problem. Do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?

Problem very likely caused, having looked at the source coding, by ad-blocking. The site makes heavy use of ads and is probably doing what IMDB used to do with their trailer and other vids, i.e. block them or stutter them if the user was using strong ad-blocking.

As the OP has decided not to mention what extensions are in use, then it's hard to be sure, but it would explain why SafeMode works and any new fresh install of any other browser, in this case, SeaMonkey, would also work.
