Disqus - Unable to login due to floating log in panel

Post by mrwul »

Firefox 54.0.1 32b
Windows 10 x64
Link: https://blog.malwarebytes.com/101/2017/ ... 3447076352

when I click on the 'Disqus' button and select 'Disqus' to log in, a 'floating' Sign in to Disqus panel shows up.

Image

1. my password manager doesn't fill in
2. and even when I use the normal login details (entering them -manually- !) I get an error

Tried over and over - gave up.

Launched Chrome
did the same
now, Chrome opens a 2nd tab
Password manager fills empty fields without problems.

How do I accomplish this within Firefox?

FWIW my Firefox - > Options -> Privacy settings

Thanks!

that panel is from roboform, so you need to set it in roboform - firefox can do _nothing_

I am not an expert, but frankly speaking, I am not sure about that.
Maybe you can check this out? What do -you- get when clicking on the disqus link in that site?
I launched FF in save mode, still the same.
I disabled the password manager, exit, but still the same
I launched FF in a VM using run->firefox.exe -P (default) with my password manager disabled, still the same.

Therefore, as I run out of possibilities, I am anxious to know what you are getting.

Thanks

2. and even when I use the normal login details (entering them -manually- !) I get an error
And what error is that?

When I try, I get, "Invalid email, username, or password. Please try again.", but then that is expected as I don't have an account there.

If you (manually, IOW bypassing "roboform") enter random data for the un/pw do you get a similar message?

I don't see a link for Disqus, but I do have a similar floating login on at least 2 other sites. Neither LastPass nor Dashlane will fill them in. (I'm using both till I decide which has the fewest bugs.) After my clicking 4 or 5 times, the page tells me my login is invalid, and that I have only 4 more chances, so I just copy and paste the ID and PW. I think the OP's issue is not with Roboform, but the way the page is programmed.

Code: Select all

<input id="username-input" type="email" name="username" tabindex="20" value="" required="" autofocus="" style="background: rgb(255, 152, 102);">
<input id="password-input" type="password" name="password" tabindex="21" required="">
nothing special, all fine.

maybe he uses the disqus extension - add annoying comments to any website sponsored by disqus
