Greetings all,
I've come back to FF from Chrome. Always loved FF but it was crashing so much and so slowwwwww, I went to Chrome. But I started playing with FF lately and have been using it for a couple of weeks without crashes and the speed has definitely improved. So I'm hoping I can stay with FF now.
I have a question - Can we save/store the FF password we have to enter when we start up Firefox? I do want the password prompt for stored passwords, but I'm finding it a real pain to have to enter a password to get into my browser.
Any help appreciated. BTW - Chrome does store the password - somewhere, but I have to enter it to see my saved passwords. That's what I'd like FF to do.
Thanks.

Re: Firefox password
Firefox doesn't require a password to access web site. The Master Password function should only require entry of a password when you are going to access saved passwords.

Re: Firefox password
chrome saves password in "login data"
for firefox dont use privacy mode if you want password saved, otherwise:

remembering is per site you should see the list in firefox options which are saved.

Re: Firefox password
Perhaps the page you are using as your start page requires a password, so you're asked for this when you start FFox? If so, and if you told FFox not to remember the pwd for this site, you'll have to enter it each time.
To re-enable saving the password for such a site, go to Settings/Security and click the Exceptions button in the Logins area. Now remove that site from the exceptions list. Next time you login to that site the login dialog will include a box you can click to save the password for future automatic use.

Re: Firefox password
I thought my post was pretty clear. I'm not talking about the saved passwords for individual sites. I'm talking about the FF master password. I'm required to enter it every time I open FF. I've looked all over and I can't believe there is no way to attach a screen shot on this forum. Only way I found to do that is when reporting a bug.
I'm unable to draw a box like FF pops up when I get into the program. It's the MASTER PASSWORD I'm being forced to enter. FF is saving passwords for sites just fine, and I can see those passwords when I request to, after I enter the master password.
Geez, I hope somebody can understand my question. I thought this would be a cinch.
Thanks

Reduce it/them to around 600 x 500 or so in your favourite image editor, (Be sure to remove any personal info.)
