Reference support page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/sw ... bit-64-bit

Users of Outlook 'Before switching from 32-bit Firefox to 64-bit Firefox, it is recommended that you first change your default browser to Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge... ...Afterwards, you can change your default browser back to Firefox'

I set the default to IE. Outlook now loads a link to IE. Firefox 64 bit is installed.

So when can I switch back to Firefox?

Mozilla says 'Afterwards' you can switch back but does not say 'afterwards' from what from/after 'what' can you switch the default back to Firefox?

"Afterwards" only refers to installing the 64bit version of Firefox. There is no fixed time or required action involved beyond that. The point is simply to set the system's default browser to something other than 32bit Firefox before installing the 64bit version.
