How to permanently allow location access to all web sites?

Post by c627627 »

Web sites frequently ask permission to find out where you are when you are looking up things, can this setting be permanently set to Yes.... to allow them location access without popping up asking for permission?
Open the pod bay doors, Cortana.

I believe the setting is called geo.enabled in about:config. Double click it to set it to True if you want every Tom, Dick and Harry to know where you live.

Sites can usually determine where you're located from the info in the browser headers. Go to the Location section on this site and you'll see what I mean: https://whoer.net/#extended

Here you go

And my geo.enabled is already on true, so there's something else?

Warning: Make sure you keep notes of changes to go back. If in bold the item is user set, right click and hit reset to return if default
Open about:config and type geo in the search text entry.
It may be there's more changes you could try.
My thinking is Fedex or some of the other sites might be using a different data method.
Look at some of the following: Sites might be operating using the search side.
geo.provider.use_gpsd
browser.search.geoSpecificDefaults
browser.search.geoSpecificDefaults.url
browser.search.geoip.timeout -------- this because it may be due to traffic it takes more time, maybe increase the number.
browser.search.geoip.url
Doesn't matter what you say, it's wrong for a toaster to walk around the house and talk to you
