can't do math homework

Post by DN123ABC »

My son is trying to do his math homework.

It gives an example at:

The voice plays, but no video. Also controls only flash for a second, and are gone. Paste it into IE, and it works.

Any ideas?

No extensions.

Works for me using the latest nightly? Did you try Firefox Safe mode?

I don't have the beta version, but it worked for me. I am running under Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit) and I have Flash installed. The versions of Firefox I tried (and worked) are:
  1. Firefox 55.0.2 (64-bit)
  2. Firefox Nightly 57.0a1 (2017-08-22) (64-bit)
I don't have the beta installed.

Do you have the current Flash installed? (Mozilla tends to block the running of older versions of Flash.)

Have you blocked Flash?

Have you tried changing "Use hardware acceleration when available" to the opposite setting? (In 55.0.2, this isn in Options -> "General", scroll down to "Performance" / [x] Use recommended performance setting. UN-check "Use recommended performance setting" to see "[x]Use hardware acceleration when available". If that fixes it, it is possible that the video driver might be out of date (Windows Update can be installing an old driver or just part of a driver, so check the manufacturer's website) or incompatible.

Also, on Add-ons -> plugins, for "Shockwave Flash", try "Always activate" or "Ask to Activate". If you have it on "Never Activate" it could cause problems for sites that need it.

Any reason you're using a beta?
Does it work for you in 55 release?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Yes, I like some of the newer features, and in return, "test" (report bugs) for Mozilla (the people who make it).

Did not try that version.

I got what I needed for the time being using IE.

56beta2 shows the video with no changes to ublock (full customized) windows 8/32bit.

again - test safe mode or a fresh profile. any other is wasted time - for you and us.

It plays fine for me too and also in Google Chrome...but I still "can't do math homework". Sure glad I don't have any kids in school anymore. :)

And what would humiliate me most is it is probably only 4th or 5th grade work.
I often take a long windy road to my destination. Upon arrival, I wonder how I missed the shortcut.

Like I said, there are no extensions. This is a brand new profile.

Doesn't matter any more, I got what I needed from IE.
