Gmail Server Error 007 - had to go to Google Chrome to open

For the last few hours, trying to open gmail in Firefox gives an error - Gmail Server Error 007 - I had to go to Google Chrome to open gmail!

Pls help!

I am a die-hard fan of Firefox!

GMail's online help has several suggestions:

Or are you using Avast?
