"Web Content" uses too much memory (Linux)
I'm running Firefox 55.0.2 under Kubuntu 14.04, and I'm having persistent memory usage problems. Most recently, something called "Web Content" (as revealed by top), is using a huge amount of memory. What might that be, and how can I shut it down?

Assuming you are using the release version of Firefox and "web content" process is referring to one of the content processes of Firefox, my question would be: are you using an ad blocker, such as uBlock Origin? I have noticed that some ads delivered over the advertisement networks to websites tend to cause Firefox to go wild on cpu and memory consumption and right now the only work-around seems to be to block them.
