Disable Add-On Update page

Post by jagooch »

While I love add-ons and donate to support the ones that I find useful, I strongly dislike when they interrupt my workflow by opening an update page that nags me for money.

Is there a way to prevent this behavior?

not without modifying the extension. try to get along with it - or block the target site.

I don't know is version 55 still uses this config setting... but maybe this doc. will help...

How to turn off add-on updates | Mozilla Add-ons Blog

I have these 3 settings all set to false...I just check for updates from time to time.

extensions.update.autoUpdateDefault
extensions.update.enabled
extensions.update.notifyUser
As you can see she's (The CAT) always alert and on the prowl for Meoware !!

he dont want to block the updates but the pages which are loaded when an update was done - noscript has an option, get more familiar with its settings. VDH dont know, i think not - but VDH wont work on v57, but there could be a replacement.

NoScript never "nags for money".
NoScript does take you to a page with update notes - when a new version comes out.
And that can be disabled.
NoScript | Options -> Notifications => Display the release notes on updates
Fire 750, bring back 250.
