Be careful with that first one. Many "speed" tweaks like pipeline value adjustments actually cause more performance issues than they cure. For most users Firefox is set for good performance with the default config values.

thats the important point - "visible" faster means not faster by engine and in background, only faster when going to display a website.

pipelining (there are two prefs) and max connections to a server can improve loading if network connection is fast enough.

but those tweaks are not the world - in most cases the whole system is slow, performance is decreased in many ways, firefox is only one program to indicate a slow system. eg antivirus on most systems slow down, in you case (windows 10) it probably could be windows defender (if active) - there are issues with firefox - firefox is affected, more or less. 3rd-party antivirus are known to slow down.

i can tell you that firefox is not slower than IE, chrome or any other in a clean environement. its up on you to tell us more about your system. this is what i rely on

It sometimes appears Firefox in Safe Mode, a clean profile or a new portable version is faster but sometimes it is not.

that mode or new profile vary in behavior which points out to system.

maybe PUP (potential unwanted programs) can do that but deleting PUP it should be more constant, is it now?

concerning malwarebytes, ok, accepted - but you have to admit (you deleted that part in logfiles) that it somehow was blocked before, whyever.

It is very hard to say, I would say it is not, but I am not sure and I cannot see any regularities. May be the speed of Firefox is proper at all, but it would be good to get a page open in a fraction of a second or so.

Yes, sometimes Firefox is quite fast often it is not, may be there is a connection to Defender or whatever.

If Defender is using that much CPU you should try and figure out what its scanning so much... Defender uses almost no CPU unless its doing a scan, but those run here at night mostly, don't recall it ever scanning during the say or when system is in use/busy.

Safe-Mode is a troubleshooting mode, just to see if any of your extensions are slowing you down. I would try that next if you haven't already. You won't stay in Safe-Mode after the remaining problems are found.

Dirki, this thread is going nowhere. Give us a specific URL which you "think" is loading slowly and the time (e.g., 3 sec, 4 sec, ...) it takes to load. That would give us something to work with; rather, than all this guessing and speculation. BTW loading in 1 to 2 sec's is NOT slow.

Tried them using FF55.0.3 and FF57b3 with these results:

My conclusion is that this is NOT a Firefox problem. It is likely something on your system or perhaps that all those servers are in the U.S. and you are in Germany with a lot of network in play.

Yes, they mostly do ¼, ⅓ of the time, 1, 2 seconds often.

I tested those sites with results:

Some additional information. I ran each of them through a HTML validator with the following results.

https://www.amypink.com/ - 346 Errors

http://www.critch-comedy.de/ - 46 Errors

Also the site at lustich.de has many many ads it tries to show. It is probably pulling them from many severs which will definitely slow it down.

One final thought. Firefox strictly parses HTML; on the other hand, Chrome and IE parsing is very loose and does a lot of guessing with badly coded sites.

So the other sites, mostly blogs or such, I mentioned before with very long loading times will have the same issues, I could imagine.

Such a compare, speeds of Firefoxes (respectively browsers in general) are not that exactly doable, I guess, but it gives good clues. So finally one could say, my Firefox runs like it should run, obviously.
