How to STOP auto update and keep on using an old FF ?

I wanted to keep on using FF v48 (x64) and not to update to the latest version.
But, after a restart it got automatically updated to v56, although it was selected "Never Update" in Advance option.

Can anyone please explain and help?

In short remove Mozilla Maintenance Service or disable it in Services.
