I have a major problem with Firefox 57.
Yesterday when I entered FF on my laptop and also on my desktop the new FF57 was automatically loaded.
It is working well on my laptop and I am pleased with it. Unfortunately it isn't working on my desktop. It freezes and impossible to navigate.
Both machines are running W10. Home, 32 bit on the laptop and Pro 64 bit on the desktop.
How can I get the desktop installation to work?
I am a computer novice so please give any tech advice in simple terms for me please.
Thank you.

Restart Firefox in Safe Mode as described in this tutorial: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tr ... -safe-mode
If that fixes the problem then one or more of your extensions is the culprit.

Re: Firefox 57 not working
You might also want to check if the offending machine is trying to install the latest batch of Windows Updates. Windows 10 Creator Fall Update 1709 has been problematic for me on two different laptops - it seems to grab an enormous amount of bandwidth for the download. One took about three tries to get it right - the other stalled completely and I had to run the Update Troubleshooter. Among the problems that created was Firefox slowing to a crawl. You may need to check several times for updates, as it seems to be trying to install them in the wrong order!

Re: Firefox 57 not working
Thank you both for your replies.
@Vitesse, I discovered updates were not up to date and it took me a long time to get them right. Some took a number of tries to complete. My desktop is now up to date.
@Reflective, I clicked on the icon in the top right hand corner and it opened a drop down menu. It took a long time before I could open FF in safe mode. It hasn't solved the problem.
What can I try next?

Check these troubleshooting articles to see if any of them help: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/produ ... or-hangingartmo wrote: @Reflective, I clicked on the icon in the top right hand corner and it opened a drop down menu. Also, check whether multiprocess has been disabled by Windows: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/re ... -utilities
